Being a mom photographer has it's benefits :) because I absolutely love taking pictures of my kids. My dad and my mom had gotten my boys these bomber jackets a couple weeks ago, and I thought how great would it be to let them actually go see a plane? Of course, my ulterior motive was the photos. My grandfather, we called him Bumpa, was in the Air Force. He fought in Korea, and settled with his family in the Great Land. When I saw these jackets, I knew immediately what I wanted to do, create a small tribute to an amazing man. Of course it helped that my boys told me they both wanted to be pilots! So I called the airport and asked if it would be okay for me to come and take some pictures, and they said yes! Had to wait a week till they had time available, but it was soooo worth it! Thank you to the kind personnel at the Ames Municipal Airport for making this little dream come true for me and for my boys!

This past weekend I had the privilege of taking photos of an upcoming high school graduate! Senior Maddy was a natural in front of the camera, showcasing one of her passions in music with a violin. We chose Iowa State Campus to take her portraits, and it could not have been better. After a week of miserable and cold gloom, the sun came out just long enough to make the bright reds and oranges on the lovely trees pop! It was the perfect backdrop for this gorgeous young woman. Best of luck as you finish out this year and head out into the world, Maddy! Thank you for letting me capture this special time in your life :) 
This past weekend I had the opportunity to take photos of this darling family! With their beautiful kids ready to work the camera, we had a fantastic time together :) Thank you for allowing me to be a part of capturing these special memories. I hope you will be able to cherish them for many years to come!
